1. Acceptance

By accessing insertbase.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The reference data may be browsed without registration.

2. What the site is

InsertBase is an independent reference database for indexable cutting inserts. Geometry is derived from the public ISO 1832 designation standard. Brand-specific facts (ordering codes, chipbreaker designations, grades, coatings, application groups) are extracted from the manufacturer's officially published catalogue and stored with a source citation, version and date. The methodology is described on the editorial policy page.

3. No engineering or procurement advice

All data is published for reference only. Dimensions, tolerances and grade equivalences are compiled from public standards and catalogues and may be out of date, incomplete, or apply only to a specific catalogue revision. You must verify the complete ordering code, edge preparation and cutting data against the current manufacturer catalogue and your toolholder before machining, specifying or purchasing inserts. InsertBase does not engineer your application and accepts no liability for tool damage, scrapped parts, injury, or commercial loss arising from use of the data.

4. Trademarks

Sandvik Coromant®, Kennametal®, ISCAR®, and all other brand names and grade designations remain the property of their respective owners. They are used on InsertBase strictly for identification and cross-reference. InsertBase is not an authorised distributor of any listed manufacturer and has no affiliation with them.

5. Copyright

The site's prose, page structure, ISO 1832 decoder and the layout of the reference database are © 2026 InsertBase. Individual facts — dimensions, ordering codes, grade names — are not copyrightable. Manufacturer catalogue content remains the copyright of its publisher; we store only individual cited facts, not catalogue tables or images.

6. Inquiries

Inquiry requests for verified specifications or sourcing are answered on a best-effort basis within one business day. We are not a quote engine, a broker, or a seller, and we cannot guarantee that any specific insert or grade is available from stock anywhere.

7. No warranty

The site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, restrict, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, InsertBase and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of or reliance on the site, including any decision taken on the basis of cited data.
